To insure a long lasting turf, a precisely engineered perimeter and base is a must. The use of concrete for the border is highly recommended. PolyGrass can any custom decorative concrete strip, or a less expensive metal, plastic or treated wood border as a peremiter.

PolyGrass provides a two layer flex base system which has been proven to last for years. It is the same system used today for providing a secure base for brick pavers, sidewalks and roadways.

Much of our Bay Area soil is either expansive clay or sandy soil which expands and shrinks from winter to summer. Based on these local soil conditions we add 3-4 inches of base rock and 1-2 inches of base fines which will hold together during these weather changes.

After the synthetic turf is installed over the base layer, we add a proportionate mixture of sand and crumb rubber. This allows the grass to have a uniform look and realistic feel.
